I really like your art so does my mum we think they are amazing!

Over the years I have been involved in several creative endeavors in addition to my own artmaking. These have included: prop building, murals, animations and musical projects. I thought it would be nice to share some of these moments here. Most of these have been through schools, in my role as a teacher.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! Yes, I am very fond of Doctor Who, but I am NOT a Doctor Who artist! My major interest is the creation of my own ideas and works. That said, I have run, for several years now, a Doctor Who club at school. An important part of this involved the making of lifesize props from the show. This has been tremendously enjoyable as the props have been used in many events. The children love them!
Another exciting project was creating large (i.e. 18 foot tall!), puppets, props and animations for a production of 'War of the Worlds'. With a budget of very little I created a large mult-limbed martian (two children got inside, and four worked the arms!). I created the prop using MDF, farmers' drainage tubing, expandable foam and clay. I also experimented with animated silhouettes for the large projected screen. Great fun, and a nice break from the business of 'serious' art making!
