Embarking on two new commissioned works; exciting!
One involves a very unusual elephant whilst the other is a book cover for a ghost story... I will be adding details to the site as work progresses and images to the gallery once they are completed.

Work now exhibiting at the 'Robinson-Gay Gallery' in Hexham, Northumberland.
Following a showing at the Newcastle/Gateshead Art Fair in October/November, a selection of my work is now on display in the 'Robinson-Gay Gallery' in Hexham. Some originals are also still on display in 'The Watling Coffee House' in Corbridge Northumberland.

'I stand agog at Neil's work - imagination and art come together to produce worlds of amazing depth that lead the watcher on the shore into other places and other dimensions...' Mike harding

My work explores several themes although I’m now more than ever convinced that they stem from the subconscious. Ideas come to me and images often evolve over time, right up until the end of the making process. I am largely self taught and have always ‘done my own thing’. My style has developed naturally over time. I produce quirky and unusual images and work with them in great detail; pushing what can be done with each medium I use.

I work in various media, but I seem to have settled in three key areas: pencil drawing, oil painting and constructional/3-D work. At the present I am particularly enjoying pencil. I am still surprised by what can be achieved with the combination of H, HB and 2B! Currently working on textural and natural patterns is keeping me working late into the night!

It’s hard for me to easily explain my work. Browse the images on the 'Gallery' page and see what you make of them…
